May in Canada marks Speech and Hearing Awareness month. That inspired me to have a conversation about communication. I see so many patients struggle with communicating their needs and expressing themselves. Don’t take my word for it, but in my experience, this lack of communication is a stress that affects our health. It’s time for us to speak up for ourselves!
In this podcast you’ll learn:
- What happens when we don’t express ourselves
- Why we need to get better and expressing our needs, or setting boundaries
- The connection between self-esteem, your sense of value, setting boundaries, and integrity
- What my marriage taught me about communication and getting my needs met
- What is really going on when you’re feeling triggered and what to do about it
- How to easily communicate in a way that won’t put people on the defensive, and the big myth about what makes us feel things
- A simple technique to learn how to trust your intuition
- What to do in a group situation, when you’re not comfortable with what’s happening
- Three questions to ask yourself before you say, “Yes,” to anything.
