3 Mouth Watering Frozen Treats That You’ve Gotta Try This Summer

3 mouth watering healthy summer frozen treatsI do this thing on my Facebook page that I really love. I put up a word, and my peeps tell me the first thing that comes to mind. I do it on Wednesdays, so I have cleverly named it Word Association Wednesdays. Last week I threw up Popsicle and got some fun responses.

I promised one person I’d provide some delicious and healthy recipes. I’ve included three of my faves below. The nice thing about these recipes is that they are pretty forgiving. You can substitute ingredients with no real concern of messing up the end product.

Dr. Tonia’s Healthy Popsicle

1. Add to blender:

2 cups watermelon
2 cups fresh berries (your choice)
1 banana
1/2 coconut milk, water, fresh apple or pear juice, or your favorite nut milk (it’s hard to go wrong)
1-2 tbsp honey

2. Blend all ingredients.
3. Pour into popsicle molds and freeze.

Trick:

Add some cucumber here to sneak in some veg… hee hee…

Dr. Tonia’s Healthy Creamsicle

1. Add to blender:

1 C fresh orange juice
1 C coconut milk
2 tbsp raw hemp seeds
1/2 tsp non alcoholic-vanilla
15 drops of vanilla stevia

2. Blend all ingredients until frothy
3. Pour into popsicle molds and freeze.

Trick:

Try mixing it up with other citrus fruits: lime, grapefruit, lemon or a combo of any of them.

And I saved the best (aka my fave) for last…

Dr. Tonia’s Healthy Fudgsicle

Mmm… mmm… mmm…

1. Add to blender:

2 ripe avocados, peeled and pitted
2 tbsp of raw cacao powder
2-3 tbps of honey, maple syrup OR 1/3 C of pitted dates
1/2 tsp of alcohol-free vanilla
4-8 tbsp water, your favorite nut milk, or cold mint tea (for a chocolate mint variety)

2. Blend all ingredients adding more liquid if needed, until everything is smooth ‘n’ creamy.
3. Pour into popsicle molds and freeze.

Trick:

You can sneak greens in here and they’ll be disguised by the chocolate.
