I realized recently that no matter the title under which I am practicing, or the tool that I am using, or the condition I am treating, my work is all about reducing pain and suffering, and bringing more love and joy into the world.
So here are 20 ways to bring more joy into your life (Tweet it!):
- Say, “Yes!” only to what you want to say, “Yes!” to.
- Say, “No!” with grace when you don’t want to do something.
- Move your body. What ever feels good. Just move it. And move it often.
- Express gratitude for what is already amazeballs in your life.
- Be in the present moment (it is a gift after all) as often as you can be.
- Accept the things you cannot change.
- Forgive yourself. Forgive others.
- Meditate.
- Pamper yourself first.
- Follow your inner compass, your joy-o-meter. Learn to ask and listen to your inner guidance system.
- Laugh every day.
- Ask for help.
- Hug and make love.
- Move through fear. Don’t avoid it.
- Take fish oil and Vitamin D.
- Go outside as much as often as your climate will allows. If it doesn’t allow it, bundle up and go outside. (Take home point: spend more time in nature.)
- Have animals around. Train them to do silly things like merengue dance with you – even though your husband says that it is just the dog’s way of scanning what is on the countertop. (I tried my darndest to get a picture of this for you. But alas, the dog, the lighting, none of it was favorable.)
- Speaking of dancing… dance.
- Be of service. Pay your joy forward.
- Eat more veggies.

Sing, sing, sing! (even if you think you can’t). Sing with others, sing to your pets, sing to your beautiful self.
