Orgasmic Meditation

Hello!

What a topic title! What is this exactly?

Well, Orgasmic Meditation (OM) is typically done with a partner who lightly and slowly touches the upper left part of the woman’s clitoris. There is no intercourse, and this gentle stroking happens for 15 minutes.

One quarter hour where two minds and two bodies are focused on one very, very, very specific spot on one body.

Why am I talking about OM? I want to share this with you because it’s an incredible stress reducer. It floods the body with endorphins, serotonin, and oxytocin. The pleasure and experience is a powerful “off” switch to our chronically revved up stress response.

This TED talk explains more about how it works. If the technique seems complicated, just remember this acronym I invented: MULLS.

M – Moist
U – Upper
L – Left
L – Light
S – Slow.

It is also great for repairing relationships as it forges bonding via the hormone, oxytocin. This is a double positive because often my patients share with me that their relationship stresses them out. Stress relief and bonding with the person that causes you stress. Woot! Woot!

The purpose isn’t necessarily orgasm, but it often is a delightful benefit. And as mentioned there is no intercourse during those 15 minutes, but this exercise often leads to more varied sexual activity, as both parties can be quite turned on by the end.

I say, “Why not give it a try or 2 or 3?” It’s for your health, and I say, “Cheers to that!”
